He has been sought after by government agencies \u00a0to help with\u00a0complex socio-economic-environmental modeling issues. Three of the\u00a0companies he co-founded (Power Thinking Tools, Dimensional Systems, DSSlab) were acquired in unsolicited acquisitions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He has chaired a variety of industry organizations including the OLAP Council and the Analytical Solutions Forum.\u00a0\u00a0 He has been an invited speaker, keynote or chair at many conferences and workshops.\u00a0 And he is the author of numerous publications for both scholarly and trade journals. He wrote the Decision Support Column for Database Programming &amp; Design, and the Analytical Solutions column for Intelligent Enterprise.\u00a0He is also the author or co-author of several text books including OLAP Solutions: Building Multidimensional Information Systems 2nd edition, which is used around the world in both graduate computer science and MBA programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Specialties\/interests: OLAP, natural language processing, combinatory ontological grammars, information extraction, \u00a0data \u00a0fusion, integration of unstructured and structured data, semantic technologies, visualization, pattern recognition, foundations of logic, language and mathematics, and socio economic environmental models<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He is currently a<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.scigaia.com\/about\/leadership\/\">consulting CTO<\/a><\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">to a start-up focused on producing a new generation of sustainable development indicators. \u00a0And he is working on\u00a0a new patent-protected AI start-up which is \u00a0currently in stealth mode.
